Social Housing in Larnaka, Cyprus

The proposal reinterprets collective housing as a sequence of interconnected residential communities, balancing privacy with a strong sense of shared life. The buildings are organized around landscaped courtyards and communal spaces, creating protected environments for residents while maintaining a close relationship with the surrounding landscape.

A clear structural and spatial rhythm defines the residential volumes. Recessed balconies, shaded circulation areas and intermediate outdoor spaces introduce depth to the façades, while the arrangement of the buildings creates a variety of communal and more intimate spaces throughout the complex.

The architecture adopts a simple and robust material language, with particular emphasis on orientation, shading, greenery and outdoor living. The proposal aims to establish a contemporary model of affordable housing in which environmental performance, everyday functionality and a sense of community are integrated into a coherent architectural identity.
